TREK ITINERARY

Your guide will pick you up at your guesthouse at your preferred time. You will walk along the river, then head uphill, crossing rubber plantations on the way to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park.
Once inside the jungle, you may have the chance to spot semi-wild Sumatran orangutans if you’re lucky. Many of them are accustomed to seeing humans, as these short treks are quite popular. You will have time to observe them swinging through the trees and caring for their babies—an unforgettable experience!

Afterwards, continue trekking through the rainforest and stop for a delicious snack of tropical fruits. Then, hike uphill again for about an hour and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Bohorok River Valley and Gunung Leuser National Park.
After a jungle lunch, continue walking through the rainforest and discover incredible wildlife, including Long-tailed Macaques, Pig-tailed Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and Monitor Lizards. Stop at a small creek or a waterfall, where you can take a refreshing swim. After this short break, trek along the Bohorok River, keeping an eye out for more fascinating wildlife.

End your trek with a thrilling and refreshing experience—take the “jungle taxi” (a rafting ride) along the Bohorok River, bringing you back to Bukit Lawang!
